It is no doubt that small businesses, TVs, and newspapers are struggling with disruptive marketing innovations by Google, which have led to some level of resistance by the industry. But, if the industry embraces the new marketing strategies, using keywords for search engine optimization can help them tremendously.

What is SEO?

If you haven’t started to use keywords for SEO, your business is on the losing end. The majority of people searching online only check the first page of the search results and typically only click the first three results.

SEO is referred to as the optimization of your website pages to align with SEO best practices to rank better in search engine results pages (SERPs). A fully optimized website will bring traffic, engage visitors, and, more importantly, convert them into buyers or prospects. One main element of SEO is the keyword.

What are keywords?

Keywords are the phrases and words used in your web content that allow people to easily find your website through search engines such as Google. So, if you use the wrong keywords, you can lose business because you are missing out on generating organic traffic by how consumers are searching.

This guide explains why your business needs keywords for SEO for more traffic, leads, and sales.

Why do you need profitable engaging keywords for SEO or PPC ads?

As mentioned above, keywords are the linchpin between your web content and what people are searching for. While your primary goal in ranking higher is to drive more organic traffic to your website, the keywords you use to target highly determines the amount and kind of traffic you gather.

In addition, keywords are more of your audience who care more about your content. Thus, you must create content that will organically rank higher and drive your audience to your site. But, how do you achieve this?

You need to understand your visitors’ needs, such as their language and the kind of content they look for. You can achieve this by talking directly to your clients, frequent community groups and forums, and conduct your individual keyword research.

How can companies find the right leads through keywords in their tv and newspaper ads?

Although keywords will not instantly shoot your site to the top of the search results, they are critical for SEO. Here are ways you can use the right keywords to help your site rank higher as well as tailor your web content to searches.

Using Long-Tail Keywords

There are two types of keywords: short-tail keyword/singular keywords and long-tail keywords. Singular keywords could be your ultimate goal since they have an appealingly high search volume. However, they tend to have exceedingly tough competition.

Moreover, they appear vague; for instance, if someone searches for “dog”, you cannot know if they are looking for types of dog breeds, where to buy a dog collar, or about dog food.

On the other hand, long-tail keywords are more detailed with clear intent. For example, “best dog walkers California” is very specific. Also, long-tail keywords are less competitive, and your site is more likely to gain traction and make a mark on the search results.

Using Keywords on Web Pages

You cannot just throw keywords all over your web pages. Instead, you must create compelling content that has real value for your visitors, not just hunting Google robots.

First, create unique keywords on each web page in areas that both humans and bots look at to assure them you have what they are seeking. This includes the title tags and your content’s body.

Secondly, place a keyword in the URL, Meta description, H1 tag, and alt attributes of your images. All these areas will give the search engines a clue on what your content is all about.

Using Keywords to Create a Content Strategy

If you have existing content, you should figure out how you can match it around the keywords. You only need to create a “content to keyword map”. This can assist you to understand how your existing content is performing on SERPs, as well as identify the weak links and gaps you need to fill.

How traditional and digital marketing work together

Combining both traditional and digital marketing for your TV and newspaper ads diversifies your marketing strategies. It also has the potential to bring in impressive results.

Diversification helps in brand recognition, reputation management, and customer acquisition. And, if you work with both traditional and digital marketing strategies, you will reap more benefits and stay ahead of the curve in the industry.

Use SEO keywords for your traditional and digital marketing

Diversifying your marketing tactics is key for the long-term growth of your business. And SEO can help you promote and expand your TV and newspaper audience.
